Michael Brea the Ugly Betty actor, who only once appeared in the famous ABC TV Network show slay his mother yesterday on Tuesday at the apartment he shares with his twin brother and mother in Brooklyn.
According to reports neighbors heard him screaming Bible verses and saying “repent” to his 55-year-old mother Yannick Brea, right before he decapitated his mother with a 3ft samurai sword in their apartment located at Park Place in Brooklyn.
One of the neighbors told the law enforcement officers that he heard Michael shouting Bible verses, while his mother only screamed for help, when he called 911.
The neighbor told the media that by the time police arrived at their second floor Prospect Heights apartment the screams were stopped.
Police found the decapitated body of Yannick Brea on the bathroom floor, while Michael barricade himself in the bedroom of the apartment with the samurai sword.
It has been reported that blood spatters were all over the apartment windows, when police arrived at the apartment at 02:20 A.M Tuesday November 23, 2010.
The 31-year-old Michael Brea was arrested and was taken to the nearby Kings County Hospital for psychological evaluation before charging him with second-degree murder and possession of illegal weapon.
