Latin Billboard awards 2010 took place in association with T Mobile at Coliseo De Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan. The awards aired live and the show was watched in 50 countries at a time and it happened for the first time in the history of Latin Billboard awards. The awards show was full of entertainment and music; it included total 20 acts with 14 performances on the stage.
The spot light in the awards show was the Bronx’ Urban Bachata group, Aventura. Aventura won the maximum awards of the night. The group won the Digital Album and Latin Album of the year for “The Last”, along with seven other awards. Nine trophies were snared by the Aventura.
Luis Fonsi, Yandel and Wisin were the other winners. All of the three received three trophies each. Fonsi won the award for the solo artist of the year; Wisin and Yandel won the Latin rhythm album of the year for “La Revolucion”
Aventura nine awards also added the award of newly created artist of the year. The second most honored artist was Tito. Tito was awarded and honored with the seven awards following nine awards of Aventura.
A new category was also introduced in the awards and that was the award for crossover artist of the year and the new category was won by Black Eyed Peas. Fonovisa’s Larry Hernandez also won the award of the inaugural new Latin artist of the year.
