Remington Arms Company is still not ready to admit that Remington 700 is not a safe weapon to use. Remington Arms Company is one of the most popular companies that produce one of the most famous rifles Remington 700 but it has been one of the most controversial rifles over the last six decades.
CNBC has compiled a study after investigating the problems of Remington 700 and that will feature on CNBC soon.
According to the investigation, a little metal part of the Remington 700 have caused serious injuries even deaths over the years but the manufacturer is not ready to accept. No recalls has been issued but in 2007, Remington launched the new model but still they are not ready to admit that Remington 700 is a faulty rifle.
Several lawsuits have also claimed that Remington trigger has caused deaths and injuries but for the Company, trigger is the most unique and important feature of Remington 700.
The investigation revealed that back in 1950, Merle Mike Walker invented the trigger connecter and it has been considered as a milestone in firearm design. The trigger connector is the integral part of the Remington 700 that allows the smooth trigger without jerk.
The trigger connecter is attacked on a spring inside the Remington 700 mechanism. It is placed between the sear and trigger, it hold the firing pin to the back side. The connecter allows smooth trigger action and prevent trigger to bounce back after the fire.
The investigation revealed that a minor part of dust or any other partial can also allow the trigger to fire and in most of the cases it happened in the same way that Remington 700 fired when the hand was far away from the trigger.
CNBC will reveal the detail story of Remington 700 tonight.
